New Café for Clissold Park

The MYA team are incredibly proud of young entrepreneur and client Louis Dixon. What a success story! Eighteen months ago, Deep Beat Entertainment had two very small café concessions. Today, it has twelve. MYA has been mentoring this team and also providing design and strategic business development support. On Saturday, the company will open its first London contract at Clissold House in Hackney.

Our senior food consultant Ruth Carey will be in the park helping to implement the new menu and training the team who will deliver a new, locally-sourced menu, featuring a range of classic seasonal dishes and some great vegan options. We wish Louis and the Deep Beat team the very best of luck with their latest venture.

Here is the press release:

New Café for Clissold Park

Clissold Park will be getting a new café in November as Deep Beat Entertainment takes over the facility currently run by Company of Cooks.

Deep Beat Entertainment is run by Louis Dixon, a young entrepreneurial café operator who has developed a sustainable café brand with a strong social conscience. They currently operate cafés in Manchester, Crewe, Medway, Macclesfield and Bolton.

Committed to sustainability, Deep Beat will buy local produce, accept allotment veg for their delicious soups, recycle used coffee grounds and remove single-use plastics from all of the dishes and drinks that they create. Customers will be able to buy a delicious range of dishes, including vegan and vegetarian specialities, all at good value prices. One of the signature dishes will be vegan ‘smoked salmon’ with smashed avocado on toast. The culinary team are already talking to local suppliers such as The Spence Bakery, and Meat N16.

The new café will open to the public on 2nd November at 9am. A full refit of the café will take place across December 2019 and January 2020.

Louis Dixon said this about his latest appointment…

“We are thrilled to have won this prestigious concession opportunity, and we are looking forward to working with Hackney Council to deliver a truly sustainable offer, and some great coffee to park visitors.”

Over the next few months, Deep Beat will be giving the café a makeover. You can see more of this on the café information boards.
