Our esteemed designer Martha has spent the past three months travelling across South America. She reflects on how her experiences help bring a fresh perspective and broader vision to her role at MYA.
Hello my MYA family. I just touched down from an incredible 3-month adventure across South America, and wow, what a journey it’s been…
From the dizzying heights of Quito to the mystical Machu Picchu, I’ve had my mind blown daily. Imagine waking up to the Cotopaxi volcano, trekking through the Amazon, and reaching 5000m on Rainbow Mountain.
Bolivia’s Salar de Uyuni? Absolutely unreal. Argentina’s steaks and wine? chef’s kiss. And don’t get me started on those Brazilian beaches and caipirinhas (thanks for the tip, Duncan)
But it’s not just about the stunning landscapes. The people, the cultures, the stories – they’ve all left an indelible mark on me. From cooking in a Uruguayan ranch to learning about life in Rio’s favelas, every experience has broadened my horizons.
The people, culture, history and local cuisines made this a fascinating and truly immersive experience into what life is like in South America.
As I settle back into my role at MYA, I’m buzzing with fresh ideas and perspectives. Can’t wait to infuse this global inspiration into our projects.
