Technology Shaping Modern Commercial Kitchens: Smarter Design, Better Performance

At MYA, we believe it is important for our team to stay close to manufacturers and understand equipment beyond the brochure. Direct demonstrations give us a clearer view of how technology performs in practice, how it supports different kitchen teams, and where it can add real value for our clients.

So, on Wednesday 8 July, members of the MYA team, Andrew, Akshay, Ruby and Max, had the pleasure of visiting Unox Ovens UK for a thoughtful and informative demonstration led by Active Marketing Chef, Reece Harris.

Reece guided the team through the features and capabilities that set Unox ovens apart in the commercial kitchen, preparing a range of excellent dishes throughout the session. The demonstration showcased the CHEFTOP range, including the advanced CHEFTOP-X, and explored how its AI-driven technology and Multi.Time functionality support consistency, efficiency and high-quality results.

This kind of technical insight matters. Modern kitchen design is not merely about specifying equipment that looks right on paper. It is about understanding how that equipment works under pressure, how it supports operational flow, and how it helps both experienced chefs and developing teams deliver reliably.

The visit gave us a stronger appreciation of the technology shaping modern commercial kitchens and marked the beginning of what we hope will be a strong relationship with the team at Unox.

A big thank you to Reece for his time, expertise and warm hospitality.

If you’re reviewing your kitchen equipment, planning an installation, or developing a new commercial kitchen project, we would be happy to talk through the options and help you make the right decisions from the start.

  • We recently worked with the team at MYA on a bid for a tender for multiple catering sites. Their proactive, innovative and dynamic approach to the task was a breath of fresh air, and we were able to work systematically through a complex set of designs with an abundance of creativity and design options to consider. Throughout the whole process, the team at MYA were fully engaged and, above all, great fun to work with. I will definitely be working with the team again on future projects and would highly recommend them as design consultants.

  • If all companies who serve the independent school sector had your breadth of vision and openness of mind, I have little doubt that the sector would be a richer and more exciting place to be.
