How Military Briefing Principles Can Strengthen Business Communication

On Tuesday, members of the MYA team took part in a training session with Ben Timpson, founder of The Briefing Course and Royal Navy Lieutenant Commander (retired).

Ben brings lessons from military briefing into business, helping teams communicate clearly, influence effectively and make better decisions with less noise.

For a scaling business, this is important.

As teams grow, communication can either become sharper or become a fog machine with email permissions. We prefer the first option 

Ben’s session focused on how to influence leaders with clarity and confidence by saying less, prioritising what matters, and removing unnecessary detail that slows down decisions. 

That is valuable internally and central to how we work with clients. Complex projects need clear thinking, clear communication and the ability to get to the point without losing the relationship.
