Clear communication matters, especially when so much of our work now happens online.
For our latest MYA company day, Arti Halai joined the team for a focused session on presenting effectively in virtual meetings.
Drawing on her extensive background in broadcasting, communications, and coaching, Arti worked with the team on the practical fundamentals that shape how we come across online: when to contribute, how to use your voice effectively, how to maintain engagement, and how camera position, environment, and body language influence perception.
The session was tailored to how MYA works, with breakout exercises and direct feedback helping the team reflect on their individual habits and communication styles.
As one member of the team put it:
“Although this is a topic that may seem self-explanatory, we barely scratched the surface.”
That probably captures the session’s value well. None of these things is complicated in isolation. The challenge is doing them consistently, particularly in fast-moving meetings with multiple voices, competing priorities and limited time.
For MYA, that matters. We work across complex projects, multidisciplinary teams, and international client groups, so clear, confident, constructive communication is fundamental to delivering good consultancy.
A useful session, a good reminder of the fundamentals, and plenty for the team to take forward.
Thank you to Arti for joining us and putting us through our paces.
